Wide curved eaves with false rafter ends and front roof dormer suggest the coming architecture, but even this “rustic bungalow” falls short of the Craftsman character exhibited in the David Wood House, 1318 H Street, built just two years later. The recessed porch with siding-covered supports on a wall pier are found on several Arcata houses of this transitional period.
